COVID-19 Medicare Update

COVID-19 Update as it relates to Medicare: 

Medicare covers medically necessary hospitalizations which DOES include a diagnosis with COVID-19. Medicare is also going to cover lab tests, so you will have no out of pocket expenses if you get tested for COVID-19. 

At this time there is no vaccine, however if it does become available, it will be covered by all Medicare prescription drug plans. 

If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, you have access to these same benefits. Medicare allows these plans to waive cost-sharing for COVID-19 lab tests. Many plans offer additional telehealth benefits beyond the ones described below. Check with your plan about your coverage and costs.
